Living The Life I Imagine

I pictured
My life
A certain
Way.
The road
Was concrete
And would never
Be broken.

Suddenly,
The highway
Ended.
I was abruptly
Thrown out
Into the brush.

I was bruised
And broken.
The perfect
Road
Had vanished.

My head
Was a raging
Storm.
Tornadoes were
In my eyes
Swirling.

The world
Was spinning
Too fast
For me to
See.

Healing was long
And messy.
However,
I learned
To dig out
The yucky
Places.

Using a shovel,
I cleared out
The mud
And muck
Of my mind.

Sometimes
I watched
The huge mound
Fall back into
The blackness.
Tears flowing,
I kept digging.

I never
Gave up
Emptying
The old.
Consistency
Is Key.

Continuing
To dig,
I began
To fill up
With what
I desire
To be.

The new soil
Is rich
And abundant.
Infused with
Love,
Joy,
And Peace.
I love myself
Deeply.
I’m greeted
With sweet
Fragrant thoughts
Of gratitude
Each morning.

Now I cruise
On a quiet
Country road.

Rocky and worn,
The path is
Bouncy.
However,
The surprises
Are what
Keeps life
Fun and exciting.

As I travel,
I smile brightly.
The view
Is stunning
With hardwoods
And wildflowers
Decorating
The sides
Of the road.

Occasionally,
I slow down
To gaze at
The deer,
Turkeys,
And squirrels
As they stroll
Across my path.

No longer
In fear,
I am deciding
To get back
On the
Highway.

I am thrilled,
As I shift
To the journey
Ahead.
Intuition
Is whispering
The way.

The scenery
Is now
Melting away.
The hardwoods
And wildflowers
Disappear
And a bridge
Is in full view.

I joyfully
Make my way
Across.
A new painting
Emerging
Quickly
And easily.

I am beaming
As the sea
Greets me
And waves.
I smell and taste
The salty air
As it wafts
Into my window.

I watch the water
Chopping across
The sunlit
Horizon.
With a bump,
I return
To land.

The road
Leads to
A gorgeous
Cottage.
Her friend
Is the ocean
And they
Graciously
Invite me
To stay.

I walk in
And know
This is
My home.
I am smiling
From the
Inside out.

The feeling
Of gratitude,
Love,
Joy,
And Peace
Radiates
From my soul.

I am living
The life
I imagine.
Serving others.
Shining brightly
Being me.
